Isn’t life more???
Dear Sister, if you’ve ever found yourself pondering that question, you’re not alone…
At times, we may feel as though we are on cloud nine. Our train is chugging along and nothing can derail it. We are smooth sailing and no turbulence can jolt us off our course or steal our smile. But if most of us are truly honest with ourselves, I think more often than not we find ourselves stuck in the crazy, non-stop, overwhelming rush of day-to-day life, or on the other hand, maybe we feel empty from the monotony of the routine or endless continuation of an unpleasant season. We may find ourselves throwing our hands up in utter desperation and longing for something more. Longing for the next thing. Longing for the next moment. Longing for that next season of life, while just…trying…to…get…through…the present.
I feel you, Sis! Life can be unkind, and in some cases, even cruel. Sometimes we feel lost and confused. Other times we feel weighed down by a heavy load of brokenness. Sometimes we are left grappling to make sense of our circumstances. Sometimes we just don’t understand why we are even here and what our purpose is. We become disillusioned with our day-to-day circumstances and we long for something more to give meaning to this crazy thing called life.
We often wish away our present season for something new, because we think that somehow that next season will be better, will bring us happiness, will fill us with excitement, will take away all our problems, will give us greater self-worth, or will in some other way complete us. But the truth is, Sis, there is only one thing that can ever complete us, and that is the person of Jesus Christ and a life of purpose found in Him.
Psalm 118:24 says: “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it!” TODAY is the day to rejoice and be glad. And yes, that means even in the mundane, frustrating, disappointing, broken, and shattered moments of everyday life. Jesus commands us to have joy in the present no matter our circumstances.
If we are always longing for that next season of life, we completely miss what Jesus has for us today. John 10:10 says: “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” Jesus wants us to experience the abundant life that He offers us. Not just that abundant life in Heaven someday, but abundant, purposeful life here on this earth.
Finding purpose in the present is not always easy, but I promise you, it is 1,000 percent worth it. I pray that along this journey, you will discover yours! To the woman who is longing to be set free, hoping for something more, searching for true purpose, and dreaming of a life renewed, I promise you that all things are possible with Jesus.
This community exists to be a safe space where we can open up our hearts just a bit. A place where together we can learn and grow, smile and laugh, hope and dream, create and inspire and yes… share a few struggles and tears. Life is messy and it’s okay to be authentically you. It’s okay not to have it all together. My prayer is that together we will seek to:
- Discover who we are in Christ alone,
- Break free from the weight of brokenness,
- Find complete healing in Christ’s finished work on the cross,
- Embrace grace and walk fully in it each and every day,
- Find our true purpose in Christ and pursue Him with all our heart,
- Realize we are all God’s daughters and walk in unity to advance the Kingdom and
- Live intentionally to shine His light to all we meet!
Don’t just go through life. Live your life! Find your passions and pursue them with all your heart. Dream big. Care deeply. Love unconditionally. Give more freely. Look for beauty in the ordinary. Let go of perfection. Find your identity in the One who is greater, because He makes this life worth it. Shine His light. Live with purpose. Share a smile – they’re contagious! And when you can’t find joy, create it!
Don’t just try to get to your next destination. Be present in the present and radiate God’s love to a world that so desperately needs a glimmer of hope. My vision is that together we can start a movement to LIVE LIFE AS MORE and reach the world with the love of Jesus!
